當時的伺服器只是聯強套裝電腦，加上 Windows Server 作業系統而成，內部結構跟你我的電腦沒有兩樣，難以管理不說，甚至連新增硬碟也得先停機，拆開外殼再把硬碟鎖上。不購買專用伺服器的原因有二，除了經費不足外，就是一般伺服器主機太大太吵了，當時這台拼裝伺服器的擺放位置就是在公文櫃上、職員的背後，主機的背部直接面對窗戶。
