從視覺、動畫到工業設計，為何矽谷著迷於設計人才？

0912b1e05ff524bbd2fd183e6e0c52b2 在傳統印象中，矽谷是開發與創新的地方，工程師通常在這個地方擁有至高無上的地位。但蘋果引領的3C設計風潮，也讓矽谷許多公司開始注重產品的外觀與使用者介面的設計，讓這些東西逐漸成為顯學。

科技公司不只是專注於讓網站、應用程式得以使用，同時也開始注重用戶對於產品的觀感，從陰影、顏色以及字體等元素，從而增加對使用者的吸引力以及上手速度。例如賈伯斯領導下的蘋果，產品本身不但要在功能上有用、同時也必須在設計上吸引人，這也是為什麼 iPhone 會成為高品質產品的原因之一。

矽谷獵頭公司 TalentSky 的執行長 Rick Devine 說：「看看現今的應用程式，它們不但好用、看起來也漂亮，現在這已經是設計的基準了。無論你的產品多棒，都不能讓它看起來很醜、不吸引人，因此矽谷現在對UI工程師可說是求才若渴。」

通常，越年輕的公司就越注重美觀與使用者體驗的簡化，比起亞馬遜、eBay、Facebook、Twitter來說，Pinterest 以及 Instagram 就更注意在這些細節上。

人們都知道軟體的使用者介面比以往更為重要，人們已經逐漸離不開移動裝置，所以軟體的介面與美術設計上也需要比以往花上更多心力，而軟體設計風潮也因此延伸回硬體設備上，如同 Nest 的室內恆溫器與煙霧警報器。

提供旅遊預定服務的新創公司 Peek 也抱持相同看法，該公司聯合創始人與執行長 Ruzwana Bashir 表示，當該公司在設計第一款 iOS app 的時候，他們也是以「設計感」為第一考量：該款應用程式的介面由各種大圖片組成、而不是將每個選項單調塞入一個畫面，即使這意味著 Peek 在每個畫面出現的選項較少，他們也認為這是值得的。

「優秀的介面設計已經從『有也很好』到『必須這麼做』了。」 Bashir 說。

Google 本身其實並不以設計感著稱，但自從 Larry Page 接任執行長後，他全面審視了 Google 的設計，希望公司的產品能夠有所轉變，以「簡潔亮麗」為主要設計風格。

Google 搜尋業務的首席設計 Jon Wiley 附和說：「美感是好產品的其中一個要素，我們希望能透過我們的產品設計，引起人們情感上的共鳴，以往的 Google 產品並沒有考慮到這些要素。」

事實上 Google 近年來一直增加設計師的相關職位，包括Google 以前較少接觸的工業設計、視覺設計與動畫設計師職務。

Google 最近招募的一位設計師 A.J. Maiorano 曾經在電子支付系統公司 Square與蘋果工作過，他很訝異於現在的改變：「以前可不像現在這樣，矽谷現在熱衷於尋找設計師的程度超乎想像。」

不只是這些電子公司，就連風險創投公司 Kleiner Perkins Caufiel & Bayers 與 NE都開始計畫招募設計師。

NEA的聯合創辦人 Dayna Graysono 說：「如果你的公司裡有設計師跟你一起當創辦人是很棒的事，他會給公司帶來全新的設計基因。」目前 NEA 創立了一間名為 NEA Studio 的工作室，專門協助想要創辦公司的設計師。

Google 的 Jon Wiley 補充，「設計師需要有理解技術的能力、但不一定要完全掌握技術，但除了設計的能力外，他們也得了解人們使用產品的行為模式。所以我尋找的是能了解他人的設計師，因為設計不只是藝術，他也能為人們解決實際的問題。」

台鐵花東線今(18)日傳出意外，303次自強號12時49分於志學=吉安間(8公里200公尺)單線區間，發生死傷事故，一人當場死亡。

大家滑過最高的滑水道有多高？美國堪薩斯知名的水上樂園「Schlitterbahn water park」，在今年夏天將會推出一座全新的超高空滑水道，高度達17層樓高，雖然真正高度還未公布，但預計將打破巴西最高滑水道的紀錄，成為新的世界第一。

這座高達17層樓高的滑水道還有個德文名字「Verrückt」，中文意思是瘋癲，因為從高達17樓高度，已將近100公里的速度滑下去，真的是件蠻瘋癲的事，不過，要登上這座「瘋癲」滑水道也不是那麼簡單，由於沒有電梯,，因此得先爬17層的樓梯後，才能挑戰極限，可謂考驗膽量又考驗體力。

匈牙利舞曲小提琴練習．2014 寒假

2014年的寒假假期已經開始了，老婆在昨天讓二個兒子自己製定寒假的生活計劃表，每天排定看書寫作業以及打棒球的時間之外，我替兒子立一個目標就是在這個寒假把匈牙利舞曲小提琴好好練習，希望能在開學前能夠學會這首曲子，不過這首曲子的難度挺高的，有些部份的音要拉的很快，第一天練習

匈牙利舞曲第一小段他就哀哀叫。

前法務部長王清峰　可能接掌監察院

【方翊倩／綜合報導】總統府正式啟動考監兩院提名程序，明天將召開第一場審薦小組會議。傳前法務部長王清峰可能接掌監察院，成為中華民國五院層級的首位女院長。

今日出版的《中國時報》報導，監察委員與考試委員任期分別在今年7月、8月屆滿，兩院人數包括正副院長，加起來高達50人。副總統吳敦義將擔任第5屆監委、第12屆考委提名審薦小組召集人。對於傳出王清峰可能接掌監察院，府方僅說「沒有相關訊息、審薦小組尚未開會，哪來人選？」。
