大埔事件爭議未歇，苗栗縣長劉政鴻今大動作北上立法院，在內政部長蕭家淇、國民黨立院黨團首席副書記長林德福、當地立委陳超明以及多名民代、里長陪同下舉行記者會。

劉政鴻除解釋自家土地徵收情況、兩年內減少五千萬債務等多個外界質疑處，也透過簡報，說明大埔案徵收以及四戶抗爭民眾的狀況。

陳超明則說，媒體、輿論一面倒，全部站在抗爭民眾那一邊，卻忽略當地多數人的心聲。他大聲疾呼，「不要用台北人的觀點來看苗栗」，也說自己最了解事件始末，任何節目邀約他都願接受，好把事情「說清楚」。
