研究：變性欲者 腦神經反應機轉不同

走在街頭不少年輕人、或是越來越多藝人的外觀「雌雄莫辨」，榮陽團隊最近進行國際上第一個變性欲症者身心靈的腦科學研究，發現變性欲者關於「男女性別表徵」、以及「自我意象身體表徵」的神經迴路與一般人不同，代表身心反應的腦神經機轉與一般人迥異。同時，個案在觀看情色影片時，心理及大腦反應也跟一般人不相同。

台北榮總精神部社區復健精神科主任李鶯喬說，近18年來親自診治過的517位個案中，約有半數個案曾併有憂鬱症狀。

對於一般人而言，像呼吸一樣最自然的身體構造，在變性欲者卻是遙不可得，在術前努力爭取認同，術後承受極大身體痛苦，並經復健及長期的荷爾蒙治療，更經歷心靈的矛盾、與家人間的衝突，及受到他人異樣眼光的對待，尤其是於生理性別為男性的個案。
