變壓器過載時，溫升與額定負載時有何不同？

變壓器過載時，溫升比額定負載時更高，此時有兩個可能：

1. 小容量或廉價的小型變壓器因為沒有過溫度保護器，所以溫度不斷上升，發出臭味，若沒有人理它，最後會燒毀。

2. 要求較嚴格的產品，選用的變壓器具有過溫度保護器（例如：溫度保險絲、PTC、過溫度開關），因此在溫度過高時會自動斷路，防止溫度上升。

（註：溫度保險絲高溫時會燒斷。PTC、過溫度開關，則在溫度下降後會復歸，可以恢復導通。）
