嘉縣公車下月停駛嘉市

嘉義縣公車處秉持服務嘉義市民精神，經營嘉義市區公車多年，因嘉義市政府去年9月公告另行規劃6條市區公車路線，並以後站轉運中心為起點，採公開徵求客運業者經營方式辦理評選，公車處基於營運模式與成本效益考量，並未參與競標，基於對市民服務不中斷承諾，同意協助經營直到新客運業者接手經營，市府已確定今年10月1日起市區公車由其他業者經營，公車處功成身退，10月1日起停駛市區公車。

公車處表示，9月初即就將停駛公文函送嘉義市政府東、西區區公所與國立嘉義大學等相關單位、學校，請其預做準備，並於原市區公車路線沿線招呼站牌張貼停駛公告讓乘客知悉，正式停駛後將陸續撤除市區公車路線招呼站牌。公車處說，市區公車停駛後，所有票價將依公路客運計價方式，基本里程8公里內全票都是26元，希望乘客多利用電子票證搭乘公車，最低可享受3元以上的折價優惠。（徐彩媚／嘉義報導）
