【大陸中心／綜合報導】在菲律賓造成慘重死傷的超強颱風「海燕」，昨晚掠過西沙群島南部海域，今天往西撲向越南中北部沿海，中心附近風速達到每秒45公尺。中新社報導，中國海南省出現局部豪大雨，逾2萬艘漁船回港避風，客運船於昨晚起全線停航，眾多旅客滯留。
 
另一方面，菲律賓遭到重創，滿目瘡痍，估計死亡人數超過萬人。紐西蘭與澳洲慷慨解囊，分別捐款約366萬與1079萬台幣，協助重建。
