南非前總統曼德拉過世，外交部長林永樂今天下午赴南非駐台辦事處，代表政府向曼德拉的靈位致敬，並簽名留言，表達中華民國政府的哀悼與追思。南非駐台代表Musawenkosi Aphane及副代表Che Smith在場陪同答禮。

外交部指出，南非駐台辦事處表示，馬總統的唁電是各外國元首中第一個送達斐方者。我駐南非代表徐佩勇已獲安排，於12月12日在南非首府普里托利亞總統府瞻仰曼德拉遺容。

南非駐台辦事處指出，依南非習俗，南非政府未正式邀請任何外國政府派員參加此次國喪，但對有意願前往者不會排拒。曼德拉遺體將入土於故鄉，因鄉間基本設施不足，無法容納眾多弔唁者，不建議前往，會在約翰尼斯堡安排國際政要友人出席的正式喪禮。
