在近期的北京車展上，作為長久耕耘中國市場有成的VW，選擇在此地發表具備高達400hp動力輸出的Golf R 400 Concept，並透過首席工程師Heinz-Jakob Neusser的口述之下確定將步入量產，不過在另一邊，採用相同底盤平台而生的AUDI A3，也計劃將此一動力導入旗下即將發表的性能車型，RS3身上，試圖透過低排氣量與逼近極限的增壓設備，創造出環保、省油兼具的性能掀背。
