台中市長胡志強上午指出，因公殉職的消防人員應優先撫卹，目前的2百萬元實在太少，應該要有千萬元，不夠的錢可以募；政府也應為他們的遺孀安排一個公部門工作，趕快照顧他們。

對於高雄市政府災害重建是否太慢？他不願回應，「以免陷入口水戰」。但他說，像是被炸開的道路積水是否應該抽乾，免得連登革熱都在蔓延，「該不該做，我不曉得！」。
