美國勞工部周四 (12日) 發布報告，美國 11 月份的進口物價指數下降了 0.6%，是連續第 2 個月出現下降的態勢。另外，10 月份的進口物價指數也從成原先公布的下降 0.7%，修正為下降 0.6%。

勞工部的報告顯示，原油及食品價格下跌，原造成整體進口物價下降的主要原因，這也表示美國依然沒有輸入性通貨膨漲 (imported inflation) 的壓力。

《路透社》原先對經濟學家所做的意見調查，預測 11 月份的進口物價將下跌 0.6%。截至 11 月份的 12 個月內，美國的進口物價已經下跌了1.5%。

若不把進口原油計算在內，則 11 月份的進口物價呈現小幅成長 0.1%的趨勢，與 10 月份的數據一致，與去年 11 月份相比，則下跌 1.2%。

美國目前完全沒有通貨膨漲的壓力，讓聯儲會在決定貨幣刺激相關政策時，少了一層顧慮，多了一點操作空間。

勞工部今日公布的報告同時也顯示，美國 11 月份的出口物價上升 0.1%，自 10 月份的下滑 0.6% 回升。
