曾經是全球最大比特幣交易所的Mt. Gox在聲請破產後的數小時內，遭一名美國客戶控訴詐欺。

在檢察官與監管當局已對比特幣的使用展開調查之際，Mt.Gox交易所24日表示，屬於客戶的75萬枚比特幣與自家擁有的10萬餘枚比特幣遭竊。Mt. Gox 28日已在東京聲請破產保護，表示債務高於資產的金額達27億日圓（2,640萬美元）。

美國伊利諾州居民格林（Gregory Greene）在當地時間27日狀告芝加哥聯邦法庭，可能是Mt. Gox的第一樁訴訟案。格林在訴狀中表示：「這筆龐大損失不只是揭露一個新興產業迅速發展的不穩定性，還揭發一樁對數百萬名消費者詐欺的龐大陰謀，消費者把真實的鈔票提供給一間私人公司，換得虛擬貨幣。」

根據CoinDesk比特幣價格指數，比特幣的價格28日下跌5.6%，在紐約時間28日晚間10時40分報價為551.67美元。
