亞洲球隊在本屆世界盃足球賽最後一個希望，只剩H組的南韓，南韓在27日台北時間清晨4時的最後一場小組賽，要對上比利時，另一場則是俄羅斯對阿爾及利亞。

在這次的巴西世足賽，到現在不但沒有任何一支亞洲球隊出線，而且連1場比賽的勝利都拿不下來，南韓想要晉級，非贏不可，但對手是實力堅強的比利時。

比利時在小組賽連贏兩場，已經提前晉級，南韓只有1和1敗，與俄羅斯戰績相同，另一支球隊阿爾及利亞則是1勝1和。

南韓的這個情形，其實跟之前日本蠻類似的，前兩場都無法贏球，最後一場還要對上小組裡最強大的對手，想要突破小組賽，需要一點奇蹟。

總教練洪明甫說，他沒有特別的宗教信仰，不會求神給他奇蹟，「我們都明白韓國國民渴望球賽勝利，所以會盡力而為，祈禱奇蹟是個人自由，但勝負到最後才會知道，」

「在足球場上，也不見得最強的隊伍就一定會贏球，所以大家都有心理準備，這是最後一戰，我們還有希望，但無法預測會發生什麼事。」
